To begin with, as a learner I used to have doubts about myself regarding whether I could be a safe and good driver. I knew nothing about cars and I was completely inexperienced when it came to driving. However, when Mary began teaching me, my perception and confidence about cars & driving changed for the better with each lesson Mary provided me. Her style of teaching is logical and matched me as a beginner. She understood the necessary approach to develop my skills and confidence. Mary taught me all the essential driving skills I needed to become a safe and skilled driver. I cannot cite all of these driving skills one by one, however, I can assure you that Mary provided me with very thorough and comprehensive training as a new driver.  When it comes to her attributes as an instructor, Mary is knowledgeable, professional, experienced and most of all she is very calm and patient in any driving situation. I believe most new student drivers are anxious and nervous, however with an instructor like Mary, a new student driver will feel relaxed and will be provided with step by step lessons and instruction in order to grasp all the necessary skills to become a cautious and safe driver. With the comprehensive training Mary provided me, I was easily able to pass my road test the first time I took it. I had a perfect score with no demerits. Mary is the perfect driving instructor for me. I am a slow learner, and English is my second language. Since she is very patient and excellent at finding what I am good at, and gives me positive compliments, which helped me to gain my confidence. When I took her first lesson, it was my very first time driving. I remember that I was very scared, and I did not want to drive on the street. But she encouraged me to drive and taught me different driving skills and tips, which helped me learn faster. Her lessons are always enjoyable. Due to her friendly and uplifting personality, I’ve never felt pressure to sit behind the wheel. After completing the lessons, I easily passed my road test on the first attempt. When I took my first lesson, Mary was so flexible in her teaching methods and she was very patient with me. She is really professional, yet so easy going. Mary is up to date with the ICBC current procedures, rules and regulations. She uses her knowledge from previous instruction on what examiners look for. She has a positive attitude and high hopes that her students will pass their road test and have a lifetime of safe driving.  Long story short, I passed my  road test "N" the first try! yay! I will definitely get lessons again before I take my full license.

I would highly recommend Mary’s Driving School especially if you are hoping to get a BC Class 5 driver’s license, from an international one! The instructor is very knowledgeable and gives good tips and advices on how to not only ace the road test, but also how to be a better driver overall, at the best price you can find! 5 stars for value and service! Mary is a wonderful instructor! She explains everything in detail and teaches tricks and skills that not only allow you to pass the test but are very useful after getting your license. She is also very friendly and made the learning experience very exciting. I only had three lessons and a warm up with her but even in that short time, she taught me how to become a confident driver. I passed on my first try at the road test with her! Highly recommended!

Mary will go out of her way to make sure her students become safe & defensive drivers. She is very knowledgeable with the rules & regulations needed not only to pass the road test, but also to drive with the emphasis of safety for all the road users. I had an oppurtunity to get my lessons from Mary's Driving School, I wouldn't have done it without Mary, and the experience was amazing. Mary is a phenomenal instructor, she taught me a lot of techniques when it comes to parking (this is where I was having a lot of difficulty), but Mary was really patient and believed in me, because of that I passed my N on my first attempt!
